Jay Mager

Bio
Jay Mager is an independent filmmaker who has written, directed, edited, acted and been a principal crew member on a variety of projects that have been produced in his home town of Buffalo, NY since 2004.

In 2008, Jay wrote, directed and produced two short films; An Awkward Moment which screened at the Historic Rivera Theatre in North Tonawanda, NY and The Pigman (http://www.thepigmanmovie.com) which has screened in Buffalo at Rotten Jack’s Creep Show 2 (Town Ballroom) and at Dipson's Market Arcade Film & Arts Centre as well as in Akron, Ohio (Con on The Cob) and Chattanooga, Tennessee (Connoagga).

In 2009, Jay filmed his first long play movie, the violent, crime-noir Born To Die (http://www.myspace.com/borntodiethemovie) which is gearing up for a July 2010 release. He also filmed the short film, crossover promo The Pigman vs. GORE with local filmmaker Adam Steigert for a special screening of both films in Angola, NY. Jay has also held acting roles in the past three films made by Adam’s local production house Deftones Pictures Studios Films, including 2 zombie films (The Final Night and Day & BITEZ) and a slasher film (GORE).

On top of his own achievements, Jay has also worked on several projects with author & cult filmmaker Greg Lamberson such as the 2007 mini-movie Johnny Gruesome (1st Assistant Director & Editor) and 2010’s long awaited sequel to the 1980’s NYC cult classic Slime City, Slime City Massacre (2nd Assistant Director & Actor) which has already been garnished several awards and is lining up to be one of the film festival darlings of 2010.
